Our DirecTV DVR Season Passes as of 10/21/2006

My household is in the process of switching over from DirecTV to Comcast cable for our TV*. Right now, I’m trying to deal with setting up all of our existing DirecTV DVR (Tivo) Season Passes on the Comcast DVR.

To do this, I spent about 1-2 hours clicking through all of our Season Passes and noting all of the details into a text file. Since I’ve got all this data at my fingertips, now, I thought I’d post it here, for anyone who cares to see what shows we watch and stuff.

* This switch is based solely on saving money… We’ve been pretty happy with our DirecTV service (especially the Tivo) for the past 1.5 years or so, and am pessimistic about Comcast in general, based on how they handled some problems I had with my cable modem service earlier this year. But we’re going to save about $50/month by doing this switch.

Project Runway, American Idle, Dancing With the Stars… can we all say “GAY!!!”

    — Much love to my fag friend Dave.

Hehe yeah, well these shows are Lacey’s:
Bones, Cold Cast, Without a Trace, Project Runway, American Idol, Dancing With the Stars, Vanished, Miami Ink, So You Think You Can Dance, Knitty Gritty

I will admit that I do watch American Idol every other season. I watched it last season, so this year I will not. I mean, I will end up seeing parts of it anyways, because Lacey will watch it, but I’m not going to actually care about it/vote/etc. this year.

Project Runway makes me feel like my head is going to explode. If it’s on, I am miserable, so I try to avoid being in the room. I’m not sure why, but it just grates on my nerves.. irritates the hell out of me. I can honestly say that I *hate* that show.

Knitty Gritty is all Lacey. The one time I did see a few minutes of an episode, it was so gay that it was both scary and hilarious. Painful, though.. not quite as much as project runway, but still one to avoid.

Dancing With the Stars - last season I cared a bit and watched some of it. I think I may have even voted sometimes. This season I’ve seen a little bit when Lacey was watching it, but have not gotten into it, and have no desire to do so.

So You Think You Can Dance - I actually got into this one this past season, and put effort into voting for my favorites. I didn’t see it the year before, but will probably watch it again next season. I’m not into dancing most of the time, but the variety is actually interesting to me. They really need to stop zooming in on the hostess’s nose, though, and her outfits never cease to be scary.

So yeah, I will admit that I may swing a little towards the gay side with some of my viewing habits, but at least my mom’s not on the cover of crack whore magazine.

Yeah, I actually took a look at your blog last night, and noticed that it was littered with Project Runway references. Then, this evening, Lacey watched like 2 episodes (it may have only been one. I was trying my hardest to ignore it. although she was nice enough to get my attention when there were.. ahem.. things I’d care to see.. hehe.. but those were few, and mostly disappointing). Oh well.
